About Float Pods

 FAQs

  • The simple answer? About 1,000 pounds of medical-grade Epsom salt. This solution of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) is used to create a weightless suspension of your body but also leaves your skin feeling smooth and rejuvenated. For thousands of years, millions have flocked to the Dead Sea for the relief from pain and muscle aches the salty water provides. Floating provides a modern-day way to experience the same relief.

  • Floating is unique for everyone and often hard to put into words. Inside a dark, quiet sensory‑deprivation pod filled with skin‑temperature water, your senses gently disengage, allowing your mind and body to fully relax. Many describe the experience as “trippy,” deeply meditative, or dreamlike, while others enjoy intense relaxation, enhanced creativity, or vivid visions.

During your float session, most people lose track of time as stress melts away. First‑time floaters typically take 10–20 minutes to settle in, so don’t worry if it takes a little while to reach that state of calm. Because your body rests in a weightless, neutral position, those with poor posture may feel slight discomfort at first—but floating naturally helps your body adjust and release tension.

Whether you’re seeking stress relief, pain management, or mindfulness in Wausau, float therapy offers a powerful way to reset. Book your float today and experience why so many in central Wisconsin are turning to this unique practice for relaxation, recovery, and mental clarity.

  • You will be floating completely naked so nothing! We do not allow swimsuits due to the potential of residue from swimming pools or lakes to damage to the tanks. The room is completely private (make sure you lock the door!).

  • We provide most of what you need to float. However, you might want to bring after shower supplies with you such as deodorant and a brush. We do have a hair dryer, lotion and comb for your use. In addition, if you wear contacts, you will want to remove them for your float so bring those supplies.
